Chapter 10, Lab 1

Objectives of the lab:

  1. Understand the basic concepts of using variables in a program.

 

1.    The following exercises at the end of chapter 10 of the textbook are to be completed and saved to your I: drive or on your thumb drive in the directory called 2390LastNameChap10Lab1 (where LastName is your last name).  You are encouraged to work on these programs outside of the lab.  All programs must be submitted to the dropbox in the appropriate directory. 

  1. Complete Exercise 1, Scorekeeper.  Save the program as Chap10Exer1.a2w.
  2. Complete Exercise 5, Steerable car with Shifting Gears.  Save the program as Chap10Exer5.a2w.

 

2.    Answer the questions found on this Chapter 10 Lab 1 document in your own words.  Right click on this link, select “Save Target As” (if you’re using Internet Explorer.  If you’re using some other browser, select the corresponding action), and save the document, using the default name shown, to the 2390LastNameChap10Lab1 directory on the I: drive or on your thumb drive.  Open the document in Word and answer the questions.  Make sure to save your work.

 

3.    To receive full credit for this lab, follow the directions in the dropbox instructions.  The directory into which you will place the document(s) for this lab should be named 2390LastNameChap10Lab1 where LastName is your last name.  This directory that you will place in the dropbox should contain the following documents:

  1. The program for the first exercise saved as Chap10Exer1.a2w.
  2. The program for the second exercise saved as Chap10Exer5.a2w.
  3. The completed “Concept Questions” document from part 2 saved as “Ch10Lab1Spr08.doc” (no quotes, of course).
